Liposuction

Liopsuction - can help you reach your ideal figure by removing fat from those stubborn areas that you cannot seem to get rid of on your own with diet and exercise.

Liposuction uses tiny hidden incisions to suction out excess fat.  Liposuction works and is the most popular surgery performed in the United States.  However, it is not an alternative to diet and exercise.  With or without liposuction, it is important to diet and exercise for our entire lifetimes.   Liposuction can be used to target specific areas that your body stores fat deposits which are not helped with diet and exercise.

Reasons for Considering Liposuction:
Eliminate stubborn fat from back, upper arms, stomach, hips, buttocks, thighs or calves.
Create a more proportional figure.

Best Candidates for Liposuction:
The best candidates for Liposuction are healthy men and women over the age of 18 that have stubborn fat areas which are not affected with diet and exercise.

General Procedure:
Liposuction is almost always done under general anesthesia but you can go home the same day.  Depending on how many areas are treated, surgery time can range from half an hour to several hours.  A small incision is created through which a narrow tube "cannula" is inserted and used to suction out the fatty tissue beneath the skin.  After the fat is removed, the incisions are closed and compression dressing or bandages are applied to the area.

Please keep in mind, if cellulite is present, liposuction can improve the overall appearance but will not correct the surface irregularities.  Dr. Varon and his team understand each patient's journey to achieve their desired body shape is unique and are invested to ensure you receive exceptional results.

Recovery Process:
Liposuction patients usually report that they are sore, stiff or swollen after surgery but do not have much pain.  Generally, you will be able to dress yourself that evening or the next day and move around the house, albeit slowly and carefully.  Most patients can return to work in 2-5 days after surgery and begin exercising 2-3 weeks post-surgery.  Bruising can last up to 3-4 weeks after surgery and will gradually fade with time.  While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the directions given by Dr. Varon after surgery.
